About Tooth Club
What is Tooth Club?
Tooth Club is the next generation of children’s oral health, made in Australia. It’s a whole ecosystem that helps children build a lifelong habit of brushing their teeth, through characters they love, real connection and play.
Toothsie and his eight friends turn brushing from a daily battle into something children look forward to. Children brush along with their favourite character, earn stars for every brush, and come back morning and night because their friends are waiting for them. Two minutes, twice a day, is what dentists recommend so every tooth gets cleaned. The real goal is a habit that lasts for life.
Today, families can brush along with our videos, collect stars in the free Star Book and read our Parent Guides. Tooth Club products and a members’ club are on the way, and there’s much more coming as the Tooth Club world grows.
Who is behind Tooth Club?
Tooth Club was founded by Stella Taleb and Rossana Bellina Voss, with clinical guidance from Dr Statila Pyke. Read our story.
Is the Star Book really free?
Yes. Print a fresh Star Book page each week, or use any notebook as a Star Book. After every two-minute brush, your child draws a yellow star, one for the morning and one for the night. Get the free Star Book.
How do the brushing videos work?
Press play and Toothsie and the friends brush right alongside your child for the full two minutes, morning and night, so the time goes quickly and nothing gets rushed. Brush with us.
Who are Toothsie and the friends?
Toothsie is the warm, playful heart of Tooth Club. His eight friends are Coco, Rocco, Luna, Leo, Maya, Kai, Zara and Milo, each with their own colour and personality, so every child can choose a favourite to brush with. Meet the friends.
Brushing and little teeth
How long and how often should my child brush?
Twice a day, in the morning and before bed, for about two minutes each time. Most children stop well before two minutes, which is exactly why Tooth Club’s brushing videos last the full two minutes.
When should we start brushing?
As soon as the first tooth comes through, usually somewhere between 6 and 10 months. Use a small, soft children’s toothbrush.
How much toothpaste should my child use?
- Under 18 months: a soft brush and water only, unless your dentist advises otherwise.
- 18 months to 6 years: a pea-sized amount of children’s low-fluoride toothpaste.
- 6 years and over: a pea-sized amount of standard fluoride toothpaste.
Your dentist may suggest something different for your child, so always follow their advice.
Should my child rinse after brushing?
No. Teach your child to spit out the toothpaste but not rinse with water. The little bit of fluoride toothpaste left behind keeps protecting their teeth.
Until what age should I help my child brush?
Until they’re around eight years old. Little hands are still learning, so brush with your child, or check and finish their brushing for them.
When should my child first see a dentist?
By about 12 months of age, or when the first tooth comes through, whichever happens first. After that, your dentist will recommend how often to come back, usually every 6 to 12 months.
When should my child start flossing?
Once two teeth sit side by side and touch, a toothbrush can’t reach between them. That’s the time to ask your dentist about starting to floss. Young children will need your help. Milo, the Tooth Club Flossing Expert, is there to make it fun.
How often should we replace the toothbrush?
Every three to four months, or sooner if the bristles look worn or splayed.
Does Tooth Club replace visits to the dentist?
No. Tooth Club helps children build a happy brushing habit at home. Regular check-ups with your dentist are still important, and your dentist is the best person to advise on your child’s teeth.
